travel insurance pays out finally!

So before we left, we arranged our travel insurance for a year with Down under insurance. It's essential, ya know? and we figured, if we only need it once, it's worth it, so we paid for the extra "no-excess" thinggy. Well, it came in handy. When we think about it, it was even relatively cheap.

One of our first trips, was to the Isle of Man. We only half-planned it, wanting to make it up on the fly as we went. We were also trying to do it on the cheap. Hotel, travel, everything.

So towards the end of our 3 day stay at the Sefton Hotel, we booked an onward journey on the ferry to Dublin.

imagine our dismay the following day when we discovered we couldn't travel. THe ferry had been cancelled. We had to go back to the hotel, and arrange flights for the following day again.

when we got back home to London, we lodged our travel claim with the insurance mob. It's taken a while, but finally they have told us they will be paying the claim. It should hopefully cover our flights, the additional hotel bills, and I think they even give us a little delay money for the extended stay.

All well and good. Moral to the story is, the travel insurance is worth the money.
