Shore Excursions!

In less than 15 days, we'll be in Rome, the kick off to our honeymoon. To kick things off in style, we looked at the Shore Excursions and booked some today.

For those who aren't aware, our cruise itinerary is as follows:

• Venice
• Split
• Corfu
• Santorini
• Mykonos
• Iraklion
• Venice

So today, we booked two shore excursions. The first is in Santorini and is a volcano walk. 2 hours of hard slog up a volcano. Here's hoping we don't end up in Iceland by mistake. We're suspecting we may choose to follow this event up with our two half-body massages...

When we get to Iraklion, we're going to see the minotaur!
We're in discussion about a couple of other options. We'd earlier noticed other things we wanted to do at various ports, but now we're looking at them again, either they have changed, or our perception of what it was.

In particular, I'm keen to do either the river canoeing, or sea kayaking in Split, or even the horse riding and beach in Corfu. So many decisions. We're still trying to decide if we want to do the Delos tour - alll the feedback and reviews say it's an excellent experience, but the seas are rough and you may be sea sick.. so we're not sure yet.


It's all very close now.. and here's our full itinerary:

1. Flight London Heathrow to Rome Fiumicino on the 20th of May at 6:00am or some stupid hour
   
2. One night in Rome on the 20th staying at the Hotel Villa Franca
3. Overnight train from Rome to Venice on the 21st, arriving 22nd
   
4. Embark cruise for 22nd.
   
5. Return from cruise on the 29th
6. 2 nights at the Orion Hotel in Venice
7. Hiring a car on the 31st of May
8. Milan and area on the 31st/1st.
9. La Spezia and Cinque Terra on the 3rd and 4rd, maybe the 5th
10. Returning to Venice on the 8th, and flying back into London the same afternoon.

I'm sure there's more in there, but I haven't fully populated my calendar - it's all fully planned on scrap paper that's around here somewhere... :D
