Despite our earlier issues with the trains, we were able to get on a train this morning at 6:08am. Well, the train was supposed to leave at 6:08. It eventually showed up at 6:28am, and left at 6:38. Still, we got into Paris on time.
Some sleep on the train helped both of us, having had only a few hours last night. Barreling along through the rain is not so interesting, so we just watched more tv and movies. At least we arrived more or less on time.
A metro jump to the Bastille station, and a short walk and we found our apartment. It's pretty special. A little small maybe for 4 adults, but we'd love to live here, it's much bigger than our London apartment was. Rang the owner and had a nice chat, and found masses of information about Paris which we really should read through.
Trevor and Judy got here around 3:30pm, their flight was also delayed. They'd been up since 3:00am, and also hadn't really eaten much. So out we went for a walk, to find Trevor a Tooheys Extra Dry (really? Of all the beer you could drink.. we hunt for TEDs ? :P)
We did find an Australian pub, but only after we'd been for an extended walk, and gone through the Notre Dame Cathedral.
Haven't got any pictures, but Judy may have some. We had dinner at a french sort of place, and it wasn't too bad really. Then back home for an early night. It turns out the Marais quarter is a very lively place, even at 10:30 at night.
That's all for now..
