Switzerland

I have to be honest. Your mountains, plains and valleys are stunningly gorgeous and an excellent reason to see the country, and travel on trains. It's a shame the cities and urban areas, for the most part, let you down.

the lakes, rivers and streams running merrily are framed by white capped mountains. The waters are crystal clear and blue green from melted snow. It completely begs you to swim in it, but it's oh-so-cold.

Everyone knows it's an expensive place to go, and an expensive place to live, and I can justify expense with a suitable outcome. But the expense is just not justified. It's a place that seems to have no real national identity, and definitely no unique language. Many of the buildings are older, and have survived longer, than buildings that were destroyed and rebuilt after world war two, but they aren't as interesting, or as nice.

This may seem harsh, but I still have to tell you about the Golden Pass train, and our stay in Bern. Zurich and Geneva, well, this pretty much says it all. WE did do a cruise on both Lake Geneva, and Lake Zurich, but the Lake Zurich scene was much prettier.
