Amsterdam

After a late night and sleeping in, we decided to do a walking tour of Amsterdam, wandering around the canals, looking at the buildings, and general touristy stuff that people do.

We had planned on seeing Anne Frank’s house today, but with the lines, it just seemed too much effort, so we wandered back down to Leidensplan to have dinner again, then after it got dark, we went back up to the town, to see the Amsterdam at night that people come to see. And you know what, it was cool. Full of roving packs of guys, occasionally some females thrown in. What I couldn’t understand was the actual red lights in the windows – it’s not a flattering colour, and the majority of the inhabitants could definitely handle some flattering.

Overall, Amsterdam is a relatively laid-back city, lots of bikes everywhere, you can’t hear them, and they don’t seem to pay attention to road rules, or pedestrian crossings (sounds familiar...). The fries don’t look as good as Belgian ones were.
