Monaco

Station was made out of marble! Walked up the hill to old town. Saw the palais. Lookouts over ports. Wandered through small, charming streets. Through park like stuff (beautifully manicured) down to the main port. Awesome yachts.

Difficulty finding casino (or the way to it). Grand Casino beautiful building inside. Not exciting or like we're used to. Found more "americanised" casino. Little more like we're used to, but nothing special. Mainly just poker machines. Played roulette (electronic) and poker machine with lever! Nothing exciting or extravagent/elaborate like we have in our casinos. Much smaller too. Walked around outside near some pretty fountains.

At a hotel nearby there seemed to be something special happening with lots of security and people taking photos. Not sure what was going on or who was there. Back to old town. Up steps again...

Nice 3 course dinner only 15 each. Good value. I tried a scallop terrine. Interesting. Not as filling as Andy's entree of ravioli (which I got some of, anyway). I would have a terrine such as this again one day.
