Camden Market...

Today being Saturday, we decided we needed to do something..... see London and all of that. Rhiannon has been at work, pretty heavily limiting our time to do things during the week...

So, after a good old fashioned english breakfast at the cafe across the road (Seven Corners Cafe, in case you're interested) comprising of beef burger patty, sausage, bacon, eggs, chips and beans with bread, (bacon, eggs, sausage & hash brown in Rhiannon's case) we decided to head off to Camden Town, and see the Markets.

Along the way, we decided that Camden Town is incredibly vibrant, active, artsy, but also alternative. There's a total of 5 street markets, and we saw maybe 3 of them in total. We also got to see Camden Lock, which was pretty cool, although it wasn't working and I would have liked to have seen that.

Amongst the stores on the roadside, we found one selling robo-cop glasses, modelled very convincingly over on the left. There's heaps of alternative type stores, we could very easily have spent alot of money there, with no concerns.

Further past the lock, we found the Stable markets - all closely packed in together, but very homely and inviting at the same time... All sorts of cool art, in particular I saw a photo album I really want to buy, and Rhiannon bought a painting that we'll hang when we come back to Melbourne and find somewhere to live.

The Stable markets themselves are very eclectic, and is an astonishingly old building - see the photo on the right of Rhiannon, downing Hot Apple Cider) in front of some of the doors. Note the artsy angle of the photo here - we felt it was entirely appropriate given the surroundings. There's also all sorts of cool food stores and stuff, places that just offer you samples over the counter, so we felt it would have been highly possible to not have to buy dinner for the day.

Apologies for the quality of the photos, they were taken with my mobile, as I left the camera at home. We definitely want to go back and take more photos though (and buy my photo album.)
